What law or regulation in the accounting industry would you like to see changed?
Financial statement and audit standards for very large companies and very small companies are virtually the same. This really hurts smaller companies and organizations.
What’s your proudest achievement?
My children and that my husband and I recently celebrated our 20th anniversary!
Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?
My parents. They immigrated to America from Macedonia 3 years before I was born with a few dollars in their pockets and a few suitcases. They have worked hard their entire lives and saved so that both my sister and I could go to college. We are living proof that the American Dream really exists.
What is your favorite quote?
“Take vacations, go as many places as you can. You can always make money, you can’t always make memories.”
What’s it like working for a firm that has been around so long?
There is definitely a family atmosphere at GSA, especially since there are a lot of very long-term employees (20-30 years plus) at the Firm. There is pride in the Firm that you can really feel.
How do you relax when not working?
We like to vacation and travel as much as we can. Life is short and my kids are growing so fast, we really like to take advantage of any opportunity we can to get away.
Favorite vacation?
That is a tough one because we go on a lot of vacations. Jamaica is one of our favorites. We have been 6 times. However, my favorite was our recent trip to Hawaii. The big island of Hawaii was awesome and we even got to see an active volcano crater. We have also done several “multi-generational” trips with my parents and sister and her family that have been some of the best memories we have made.
Word that describes you.
Caring.
What was your first concert?
Def Leppard at Weedsport when they were “Rocking at Weedsport!”
