Adam L. Kroft joined the firm in January 2017. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York.
Adam works in the tax services group and practices in the areas of income tax preparation, payroll and sales tax return preparation, and bookkeeping.
Adam has experience working with physicians and medical practices, and various other industries.
Adam was formerly employed at the Bank of New York Mellon, and played professional baseball for the Rockford Riverhawks and the San Diego Padres.
Adam is a resident of Manlius, New York.
Adam obtained his Master of Business Administration in Public Accounting from the State University of New York, University of Oswego, and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York, University at Buffalo.
What nugget of wisdom would you offer aspiring accountants?
Pass the CPA exam right after school so it is out of the way when you begin your career as an accountant.
What drew you to accounting?
It seemed like an interesting and challenging career that would keep me on my toes.
What law or regulation in the accounting industry would you like to see changed?
Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) for individual taxpayers.
What’s your proudest achievement?
Getting drafted in 2004 by the San Diego Padres.
Who is (or was) the most influential person in your life?
My mother and father because they spent so much time teaching me how to act appropriately and the importance of hard work throughout my childhood.
What is your favorite quote?
“Set lofty goals, achieve lofty expectations.”
What’s it like working for a firm that has been around so long?
It is very comforting because so many different tax situations can come up, especially during the busy season, and it is nice to know that someone at the Firm has seen the situation before and can help resolve almost any scenario.
How do you relax when not working?
I spend time with my wife, two kids and dog, typically at Keuka Lake, where my wife’s parents own a cottage on the lake.
Favorite vacation?
The summer I went to the Outer Banks with my wife’s family because that is where we got engaged.
