Syracuse, NY – November, 2016 – Congratulations to Daniel F. Griffin, CPA, CVA on being honored at the 40 Under Forty Award event, along with 39 other young professionals in the Central New York region. The winners were awarded for excelling in the workplace and giving back to their community. The 40 under Forty winners were chosen by a panel of four judges who evaluated more than 100 entries, a record for the competition. BizEvents, a company in the Business Journal Network, produced the event, which is in its 19th year.

About Dan

Dan has been with Grossman St. Amour CPAs since 2007 and is senior manager in the tax department. He specializes in corporate and partnership tax, but also assists governmental, not-for-profit organizations, and individual clients with tax planning and preparation.  Over the last four years, Dan has developed the historic tax credit niche at Grossman St. Amour, where he works on and has helped develop more than 25 historic redevelopment projects in Syracuse, Albany, and surrounding upstate areas.

Dan is a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Valuation Analyst, and a 2007 graduate of Le Moyne College.

Dan has used his valuation knowledge to become involved with the CNY Collaborative Family Law Professionals Group and was recently asked to serve on the Executive Committee.

Dan is instrumental in raising awareness and encouraging participation in the community.  He has served as a board member and finance chair of the Salvation Army Young Leaders Advisory Council for more than five years.  He as organized teams for Turn-Around Jumpers basketball tournament and raised money for Tickets for Teens (movie tickets given to teens).   Dan volunteers as a personal shopper on Salvation Army Distribution Day, as a rebounder at the Turn-Around Jumpers Canyon Event, and does bell-ringing at Destiny Mall and at the tree-lighting ceremony in downtown Syracuse.  Dan also participates with his company in “Jumping for Justice,” a fundraising event for the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, plays in several charity golf tournaments, and volunteers with Corporate Volunteer Council by delivering dictionaries to third graders at Webster Elementary School.

He also enjoys playing golf and co-ed volleyball with family and friends.  He is the son of Fred and Doreen Griffin, and brother to Valerie Griffin, without whom he would not be here today.  “I would like to thank all the partners at Grossman St. Amour CPAs for their help and guidance over the years”, said Dan. He added “I owe so much to my supportive wife, Carly, and to my new baby daughter, Leilah.”
