Syracuse, NY – October, 2016 – Linda Gabor, CPA, CFE, a partner at Grossman St. Amour CPAs PLLC, her husband, Parish and their two children were invited to attend On October 4th, 2016, 77 veterans left Hancock Airport and traveled to Washington D.C. on Honor Flight "Mission 8" to visit the national memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice. The mission was a success, and our Firm was honored to attend their homecoming (on the same day) and be part of the large crowd of greeters and applauding citizens warmly welcoming them home.

"We were honored to be invited and proud to be part of this overwhelming and emotional event", said Linda Gabor, Partner, Grossman St. Amour CPAs PLLC.

Mission 8 included 40 World War II veterans, 30 Korean War veterans and 7 Vietnam War veterans.

The goal of Honor Flight Syracuse is to help every single war veteran in the greater Syracuse area, willing and capable, to obtain a flight (or a bus-trip) to visit THEIR memorial at NO COST to them. Top priority is given to America’s most senior-citizen heroes – veterans of World War II and any war veteran with a terminal illness. Additionally, the program has begun outreach to Korean War and Vietnam War veterans. In the future, veterans of other conflicts will be served on a chronological basis.

In May 2012, Syracuse became an official hub in the Honor Flight Network and has taken more than 500 veterans to Washington to visit their monuments. Since then, the founding board and core group of volunteers have been actively engaged in building a viable organization to provide travel opportunity to hundreds, rather than handfuls, of veterans residing in the greater Syracusecommunity.
